Hi, I’m Rochelle (Rochella to those closest to me). I write about life, culture, and the subtle moments that shape how we see the world. My reflections range from societal dynamics, cultural shifts, music, movies, books, and travel, to ideas that might be a little left field or outside the box. I value the quieter, simpler aspects of life; moments and traditions that are often overlooked in a culture that celebrates the loud and bold.
Through my work, I explore themes that anchor us as humans and examine how these anchors shift over time; sometimes for better, sometimes for worse. My aim is to offer thoughtful reflections that invite readers to reconsider how they experience the world and media, encouraging pause, perspective, and curiosity.
This space is a collection of reflective writings, blending personal insight with cultural commentary. It also serves as a portfolio of my writings rooted in thoughtfulness and meaning rather than trend or spectacle.
In 2022 I wrote a book exploring my personal navigation through mental health. That experience continues to shape my reflective approach to writing and reinforces why I believe wider cultural conversations about the quieter, often overlooked aspects of life are essential to understanding the bigger picture. It reinforces my belief that the “smaller” aspects of life frequently shape the larger cultural narratives we live within.
Outside of writing, I enjoy nature walks, landscape photography, old music, movies, true crime documentaries, drawing, travel and caring for my nearest and dearest. These interests often inspire and inform my reflections, shaping the way I approach each piece.
Thank you for visiting. I hope my writings offers a moment to pause, reflect, or see things from a new perspective.
